In our last post, we promised you exciting news.
So here it is!
We have thoroughly enjoyed spending the summer with family and friends in Puerto Rico. Fue un verano rico rico en Puerto Rico ❤
And now with the summer coming to a close,
our year-long, Vida BoriKor adventure officially begins:

WE ARE OFF TO ITALY!
¡NOS VAMOS PA’ ITALIA!

Specifically, we are headed for Sicilia.
(See yellow arrow.) And we are leaving at the end of August – very soon!
If you didn’t already know, Sicily is actually an island. It is the biggest island in Italy and in the Mediterranean Sea [1]. Sicily is home to some gorgeous beaches, historic archeological ruins, and Mount Etna – an active volcano.
[We must really love islands with beautiful beaches, seeing as we are immediately going from one (Puerto Rico) to another!!]

And as we mentioned in our last post, our intention is not to travel purely for leisure during this upcoming year. We will be volunteering for much of the year through WWOOF – World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms.
To quote WWOOF’s exact mission, “Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) is a worldwide movement to link visitors (WWOOFers) with organic farmers, promote a cultural and educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming and sustainability practices.” [2]
When we WWOOF, we will be staying on organic farms, working alongside the farmers, and learning all about their crops, sustainability practices, and daily life. We are excited for all that is to come and can’t wait to share our journey with you!
The first farm we are scheduled for in Sicily will be harvesting grapes when we arrive. We will be helping with the grape harvest, which is eventually made into wine. Stay tuned for more ❤
Talk soon,
Christie & Oscar
